GUIDELINES FOR SPEAKERS

Presentation Time:
The time allocated for your presentation is including the time for discussion. Therefore we strongly recommend that you do not exceed the time limit in order to give the other speakers enough time for their talk, and give the audience the opportunity to ask questions and/or make their own statements.

Discussion:
Time for discussion will be at the end of presentations and sessions. All discutants are asked to mention their name and their origin first.

ON SITE

Please bring your presentation on a memory stick and hand it in at the Media Check in good time before your session starts, 2 hours prior at least. In special cases you may use your own computer for the presentation. Therefore, please contact one of our technicians at the Media Check.

The Media Check is located in the basement. Please follow the signs on site. Technicians are at you disposal to support and help you to get ready for presentation.

We kindly ask all speaker to follow the mentioned information in order to guarantee a fluent proceeding during the whole conference. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact our staff at the Media Check on site or one of our hostesses at the registration desk.

ORAL Presentation

PREPERATION OF YOUR POWER POINT PRESENTATION

The modern and efficient computers for your presentation are provided with Microsoft® Windows® 7, PowerPoint® -2003, -2010. Only computers provided on site can be used.

Please make sure to enclose all used fonts and media data to your Microsoft® PowerPoint®- or OpenOffice presentations. Especially videos for PowerPoint® have to be saved as separate files whereby PowerPoint® 2010 allows you to integrate your video directly in the presentation. The video data should be of these file formats: MPEG, MPEG-2, DivX, Xvid, MOV or Windows Media (WMV).

One easy option to sum up your presentation automatically for a complete playing is the PowerPoint® “Pack&Go” function (from Version 2003: “to pack up for CD”).

The maximum resolution for the computers and projectors will be set at 1024x768 px

The standard set up does not allow for audio in your presentation.
If you use clips or attachments, make sure to create a presentation folder where these are included with your presentation. Only standard codecs are supported. Please only use video data files like WMV with a maximum of 9Mbit/s daterate, DV-AVI or MPEG2 files. It is very important that you do not include uncompressed video files in your presentation.

 

VIDEO SESSIONS

DATA SPECIFICATIONS The resolution of your video files can be PAL or NTSC Standard. Otherwise please use a
maximum Resolution of 1024x768.

Supported codecs: WMV, MPEG2, DV-AVI

We strongly recommend that you do not use uncompressed video files.

We provide only computers running on windows if you use Macintosh with MOV video files we expect quality losses under windows.

The standard set up does allow for audio in your videos.

In order to optimize the proceeding on site we will provide an UPLOAD-LINK FOR YOUR PRESENTATION

Please note that presentations and your videos sent in by e-mail can not be processed.

 

POSTER PRESENTATION

Abstracts scheduled for presentation in poster sessions are grouped by topic, numbered, listed in the Congress Program and published in Obesity Facts.
All poster presenters must attend IFSO 2011 to validate their published abstracts.
If you have not signed up yet, please arrange your congress registration online: www.ifso2011.de


Poster Presentation

Size & Format of Your Poster

The poster should be in panel format A0 84 cm wide by 118 cm high, to fit the poster board and allowing for the frame. Your poster may be smaller, but cannot exceed this size.

The top of your poster should include the presentation number of your abstract (as noted in your confirmation letter), the presentation title, authors and if any author has a potential conflict of interest to disclose.

For example:
Poster Board # P1-234
The Effects of Lotion on Dry Skin
John Doe, Mary Smith*, Peter Jones*
* Potential conflict of interest may exist. Refer to the abstract.

The lettering for this section should be at least 2.5 cm high.
All illustrations must be made beforehand. Illustrations must be read by interested scientists from distances of 1-2 meters. Charts, drawings, and illustrations should be more heavily drawn than those prepared for slides.
